Ricky Warman owns and operates 32 Papa John’s stores in Miami. He started buying stores in 2003 after he sold his two Schlotzsky’s Deli restaurants. He is the president of the Papa John’s advertising co-op in South Florida and manages a $2.5 million annual advertising budget. He is an advisor of Papa John’s International Hispanic Advertising Committee. Ricky is developing First Watch restaurants in South Florida with two open and a third scheduled for December. He is also a partner with a group to develop four Twin Peaks restaurants in Southwest Florida. Before opening restaurants in Florida, he served as president and operating partner of Jenny Craig de Mexico, managing nine locations. Franchising has been his preferred way of doing business since the early 1990s. He earned a B.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and an M.B.A. from the University of Miami School of Business. He is fluent in Spanish and English.
John Uribe, M.D., is a dual Board-certified orthopedic surgeon with Miami Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute and a member of Baptist Health Medical Group, an organization of more than 180 physicians in multiple specialties closely aligned with Baptist Health South Florida. He specializes in sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery and minimally invasive surgical procedures for degenerative conditions of the knee, shoulder and elbow. Dr. Uribe is the team physician for the Florida Panthers hockey team and the Miami Dolphins football team. He is chairman of the department of orthopedics for Florida International University’s Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine and is a founding member of the UHZ Sports Medicine Institute. Dr. Uribe was a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army and served as chief of orthopedics at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu. His research interests include minimally invasive resurfacing techniques of the knee and shoulder, as well as ligament and tendon restoration. A member of multiple professional organizations and societies, he is well-published and lectures extensively in the U.S. and abroad.
Robert Rubin is the CEO Skypatrol, a company that develops software solutions using GPS technology to manage and optimize mobile assets such vehicles, fleets, trucks, motorcycles and heavy equipment as well as the efficiency of the employees operating the mobile assets. Rubin is also the CEO of Topp Labels, which produces and prints pressure sensitive labels for various industries such as nutraceuticals, food, beer, wine, water, manufacturing, cosmetics and other adhesive label applications.
In the community, Rubin is a member of the University of Miami Citizens Board since 1997 and was past president (2008-2009) of the Citizens Board. He is a former University of Miami trustee. He has also been a member of the Miami Herbert Business School’s Entrepreneurship Programs Advisory Board and was a founding member of the School’s Rothschild Entrepreneurship Competition and judge since the inception of the Business Plan Competition. Rubin has also been a judge for many years at the University of Miami Ethics Competitions and a participant of the Miami Herbert Business School mentoring program.
Glenn Huber is a Senior Wealth Director for BNY Mellon Wealth Management. In this role he is responsible for developing new relationships in the Florida region and works with individuals, families and not for profits to identify how BNY Mellon Wealth Management’s investment, private banking, and trust & estate capabilities can help them reach their goals.
Glenn joined the firm in 2003 and has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to his 16 years at BNY Mellon he served as a Business Development officer with Northern Trust Bank of Florida.
Glenn Huber received a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Florida State University and a CFP Professional. Glenn has been a resident of Miami since 1966 and has been active in the community. He has served as trustee of organizations such as Kristi House, Friends of WLRN, Miami Zoological Society, Estate Planning Council of South Dade, First Serve Miami and Royal Palm Tennis Club.
Edward Rubinoff, the firm’s managing partner, was born in Brooklyn and moved to Miami Beach at age 10. He captained the Miami Beach High School tennis team, and after winning the National Scholastic singles and doubles titles in 1952, he received a full scholarship to the University of Miami. As a Hurricane, Mr. Rubinoff was undefeated and captained the nation’s top-ranked team.
After several tours on the international tennis circuit, where he was ranked No. 3 in the world in mixed doubles, he enrolled at the University of Miami School of Law. Upon graduating in 1966, he joined forces with Arno Kutner. They remain partners to this day. In the 1980s, Mr. Rubinoff shifted his practice to plaintiff’s work, where he found he was more comfortable representing injured people than insurance companies and corporate defendants. In 1992, he and Mr. Kutner founded the firm now known as Kutner Rubinoff & Moss, representing injured people only.
Mr. Rubinoff is a member of the board of the Attorneys Information Exchange Network, which pools resources representing clients in complex cases. He is a member of the Million-Dollar Advocates Forum, whose membership is restricted to lawyers who have received million-dollar-plus verdicts and settlements. He is listed among the region’s top lawyers in the South Florida Legal Guide.
Mr. Rubinoff is a member and former president of the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame, a member of the Florida Tennis Hall of Fame, and is the Chairman of the Board of the Greater Miami Tennis Foundation, whose mission is bringing tennis to economically and socially disadvantaged youngsters in Miami-Dade County.
Mr. Rubinoff is married to wife, Ann, and is a proud father to Robert and Laura.
Jessica Green joined the University of Miami in March, 2016 as Alumni Programs Events Planner for Alumni Programs. Prior to joining the U, Jessica worked with tennis star, Venus Williams for 9 years as her executive assistant and brand manager for her clothing brand, Eleven by Venus.
A 2007 Michigan State graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Jessica was a 4 year varsity tennis player, team MVP in 2006 and captain in 2007, and at the time of her graduation, had the most wins of any MSU women’s tennis player.
Jessica is a native of Miami, and grew up a Hurricanes fan. She currently serves on the Executive Board of First Serve Miami, a local non-profit that mentors underprivileged youth in academics and tennis. She lives with her husband Michael, their daughter Maia, and dog Bailey.
Bruce Koniver brings to the partnership his experience in senior management with Saks Fifth Avenue and Jordan Marsh, as well as an outstanding record in securing and negotiating leases for some of the country’s leading retailers. He was with Saks Fifth Avenue for 14 years in senior management positions in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Palm Springs and Washington, DC. He was General Manager of Jordan Marsh at the Omni Mall before getting into the shopping center business. He also managed Mayfair in Coconut Grove. His dynamic and positive philosophy has earned him a solid reputation in the retail/real estate community.
Bruce has represented a number of large developers and been responsible for leasing a significant amount of their large upscale retail centers including Forum Development Group’s Forum at Peachtree Parkway (Norcross, GA), Forum at Carlsbad (Carlsbad, CA), Sunnyvale Town Center (Sunnyvale, CA) and Forum at Prospect Park (Alpharetta, GA); Cousins Properties’ The Avenue East Cobb (Atlanta, GA), World Golf Village (St. Augustine, FL), The Avenue at Palos Verdes (Palos Verdes, CA); and Taubco’s Vero Fashion Outlets (Vero Beach, FL). Bruce also represents numerous retail tenants including Adolfo Dominguez, Evos, Florida Running Co., Genghis Grill, Giraffas, Pottery Barn, Sports Action, West Elm, Williams-Sonoma, Wolford and Yo! Sushi.
Larry has over 30 years international sales, marketing and general management experience covering six continents working for companies like General Mills, Nabisco, Tefal (Groupe SEB), Baptist Health South Florida and CCA Industries. Larry has lived in Spain, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Argentina and the US, making him a true international specialist.
Most recently Larry has been supporting the international expansion of numerous consumer goods’ companies. He is selling everything from toothpaste, skin care, hair care and nail care to champagne, cognac, gin and vodka. His contacts cover most of the major markets around the world including Canada, Latin America, Europe, Caribbean, Middle East, Africa and parts of Asia.
While Larry has been on the First Serve Miami board for approximately 5 years, he has also served on other not-for-profit boards:
The Latin Chamber of Commerce of the United States, CAMACOL is the largest Hispanic business organization in the State of Florida and one of the most influential minority business groups in the United States.
Royal Palm Tennis Club – Served on the board for seven years and was the board president in 2018.
Larry did his undergraduate studies at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA and has two Masters degrees (MBA and MIM) from Thunderbird International School of Management (AZ) and ESADE (Bar- celona, Spain).
Tracy M.J. Colden assumed the role of Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Playa Hotels & Resorts in January, 2020 and has more than three decades of experience in the hospitality and lodging industry. Throughout her career, Ms. Colden has focused on the structuring, negotiation and documentation of complex real estate transactions, including, acquisitions, dispositions, debt and equity financings, joint ventures and the negotiation of management and franchise agreements. As a valued member of the executive leadership team, Ms. Colden’s provides stability and legal strategy in all areas of day-to-day operation and is responsible for coordinating all major transactions and corporate governance and corporate securities matters.
Immediately prior to joining Playa, Ms. Colden was a principal in the Law Offices of Tracy M. J. Colden. Ms. Colden has also served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Highland Hospitality Corporation, a lodging and hospitality REIT, and as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Crestline Capital Corporation.
Ms. Colden received her BBA from the University of Michigan with a concentration in accounting and a JD from the University of Virginia School of Law. Ms. Colden is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) and is a member of the District of Columbia Bar, the Florida Bar and the State Bar of Michigan. Ms. Colden currently serves as a board member for First Serve Miami.
J.C. Campuzano is a Director and Senior Private Banker for Citi Private Bank based in the Miami, Florida office. His responsibilities include serving as the primary point of contact to ultra-high net worth and institutional clients. He works closely with a team of experienced specialists to offer private banking, financial planning, trust and estate services, investment management, brokerage, and customized credit solutions. JC holds the Series 7 and Series 66 securities licenses.
JC is a former CPA with over 25 years of investment experience and deep roots in the South Florida community. Most recently, JC was founder and principal of Wisdom Capital, a firm advising UHNW individuals, family offices and institutions. Prior to that, JC was at Northern Trust, where he formed and managed the Foundation & Endowment team for the Southeast region. He later led the international group at Northern Trust catering primarily to LATAM clients and spearheaded the Global Family Office Group’s entry into South Florida and LATAM. JC has been a portfolio manager and also held senior positions at INVESCO, UBS and a Miami based private equity firm.
JC earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and his undergraduate degree in accounting, with honors from the University of Miami.
