First Serve Miami (FSM) Adopt A Player Program Participant, Rishona Lewis, receives full ride scholarship
Miami, Florida – One of First Serve Miami Adopt A Player participants, Rishona Lewis, has received a full ride scholarship for her strong tennis skills and academics, has committed to Division I – Texas State University.
For ten years, Miss Lewis has been a part of the FSM as an Adopt A Player Program Participant, excelling in the game of tennis. After only one year in the program, she began playing in tournaments and winning several at the age of eight. She is actively involved in her community while maintaining strong academic grades. As a result, she graduated with honors at the top of her class. At the 2017 Miami Open, Rishona Lewis was recognized and honored as Ball Person of the Year.
Rishona Lewis had attended the IM Recruitable College Showcase, where she was noticed for her tennis abilities by several college and university coaches, and has been offered scholarships to Chicago State University, Eastern Illinois University, University of Rhode Island, University of Oregon, Northern Illinois University, Missouri Valley College, Missouri Western, Howard University, Florida A&M University, Bethune-Cookman University, and Boise State University. She ultimately chose Texas State University. Her mother, Monica Lewis said, “Rishona was ecstatic to sign and submit her letter of intent on National Signing Day, April 12, 2017”.
